Wanderlust

George: Do you know the three most exciting sounds in the world?
Billy: Sure, "Breakfast is served, "Lunch is served, "Dinner is served."
George: No. Anchor chains, plane motors, and train whistles.

If you recognize these lines, I'm guessing it's because they speak to you, too.  Does your life feel too ordinary? Shouldn't you be doing something bigger and more impactful? As an eternal adventure-seeker, I struggle with this daily, especially on Sundays when the long hectic week of spending 40 hours on a computer in a small indoor office looms ahead. This article calls for (as I'm finding to be true in all areas of our existence) a shift in perspective...and is very applicable to me on this Mother's Day where we celebrate those who have put in countless hours with the seemingly mundane tasks of changing diapers,  cooking dinner, reading books, helping with homework, tackling laundry mounds and putting in long hours of work at the office to pay the bills accrued by existing. If you share this fear of insignificance that can so often rear its ugly head and make us wonder if we are living out our purpose and calling, I hope this touches something in you too.
